The Raft of the Medusa
The Raft of the Medusa — AI Cinematic Reconstruction A cinematic reinterpretation of The Raft of the Medusa, transforming one of the most powerful paintings in art history into a visceral audiovisual experience. This project explores the thin line between history and emotion, reconstructing the tragedy of the 1816 shipwreck through a series of hyper-realistic, AI-generated cinematic sequences. Every frame is designed to feel immediate and human — focusing not only on the historical event, but on the psychological collapse of the survivors: fear, violence, desperation, and ultimately, hope. Using a fully AI-driven pipeline, the piece combines image generation, controlled motion, and cinematic editing to achieve a raw, almost documentary-like realism. Imperfections, subtle movements, and naturalistic lighting were intentionally crafted to avoid stylization and bring the viewer closer to the physical and emotional reality of the raft.
